What are Adverbs

A word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb, or other adverb or a word group, expressing a relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause, degree etc. is called Adverb.

So adverbs tell the qualities of verbs, adjectives or other adverbs in relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause and degree etc.

Interrogative Adverbs

The Adverbs which tell the qualities of a verb, adjective or other adverb in relation of interrogative statement are called the Interrogative Adverbs.

Following are some adverbs and their examples:

Why, How, When, Where etc.

Examples:

Why have you done this to me?
Why are you late?
How old are you?
How far is Mumbai from Delhi?
When did you graduate?
When is your birthday?
Where do you come from?
Where are my shoes?
